wedding ring

When i read this poem i got the assumption that the author is speaking from past ordeals that she went through with other men. her ring is what happened in the past. Every good memory, as well as bad , is in her wedding ring. i think the author left her ring behind because married life was not for her. Despite the good memories she had, there were still bad times in the past that , i believe, the author can not overcome. The ring is a symbol of her past and by her leaving the ring she is trying to forget about what happened.
